Quartz slabs - what they are, how they are made
Publicat pe 20 November 2025
If you want to incorporate composite quartz into your kitchen, in the form of a worktop, to give elegance, functionality, and resistance to the area where you will prepare food, Prowest is at your disposal with a wide range of models and available colors of materials for kitchen worktops. The premium quartz slabs, in various textures and finishes, that we distribute, can also be used for manufacturing bar or bathroom worktops, steps and risers for interior stairs, reception desks, or other work surfaces in the medical or HoReCa fields. In the following, you will find out what a quartz slab actually is and what changes it undergoes before reaching your home.
What is a quartz slab
Quartz, itself a re-composed stone, is a natural material, one of the hardest minerals, having a hardness close to that of diamond. It is obtained from a mixture of up to 95% natural quartz crystals, combined with polyester resins (with a role in binding and hardening the re-composed stone into a hard and non-porous form), pigments, and decorative elements (glass crystals, mother-of-pearl, silicon crystals, germanium, silicone, or gallium). The manufacturing process is designed in such a way that there are no issues related to the appearance of the finished result of this combination of materials. After this elaborate process of mixing and pressing the materials, the resulting slabs are cut and polished to obtain a uniform, shiny product, distinguished by finesse and refinement, being at the same time a surface that will prevent the development of any microbes or bacteria, with exceptional resistance to stains or scratches.
Slab Models
Prowest is a distributor of quartz slabs from the following brands: Cimstone, Stone Italiana, Technistone, Belenco. These are durable surfaces resistant to acids and salts, easy to clean, elegant, hygienic, and sustainable, with international certificates attesting to their perfect fit in your kitchen, as well as in other more demanding environments, such as restaurant kitchens, cafes or hotels, and also in medical laboratories. Due to their clearly superior characteristics, Cimstone quartz slabs are chosen over other materials such as granite or marble, thanks to their very pleasant natural, uniform, and delicate appearance, which, in combination with the robustness of the stone, offers a unique product, available in over 40 fluid shades, from which you can easily choose the model that best suits the room where you want to place it. Models such as Hierapolis, Barents, Terra, Artemis, or Savana inspire calm, purity, and finesse, enhancing the setup in which they are placed.

With similar characteristics, Stone Italiana quartz slabs inspire calm, natural beauty, naturally finding their place in people's homes and their relaxation spaces, such as massage rooms, spas, hotels, but also in other locations such as pubs, restaurants, or laboratories. Available in pastel and strong variants, Stone Italiana quartz slabs are a choice that will give a distinct ambiance to the places where they will be used.
