Quartz kitchen worktops are made from composite quartz slabs: ground natural quartz bound with polyester resins and pigments. The surface has no pores, resists stains and scratches very well and is cleaned with a damp cloth and liquid detergent, without sealing. Quartz is suitable for indoor kitchens, including islands, peninsulas and wall cladding.
This category contains 210 models from Belenco, Calisco, Cimstone, Stone Italiana and Technistone, in the Eco, Medium, Premium and Exclusiv ranges. Worktops are generally made from 2 cm slabs, and some models also from 1.5 cm slabs; the edge can be given an apparent thickness of 4 cm by joining and wet polishing.
Prices per linear metre start from 157,50 €/ml + VAT, with a median price of 237,55 €/ml + VAT (October 2026). Each worktop is made to order in the Prowest workshop in Bucharest, after measurements on site. See the price guide and the About quartz page.
Quartz worktop prices by manufacturer
The price of a quartz worktop depends mainly on the manufacturer, the range and the colour. The table shows, for each manufacturer in the catalogue, the number of models, the starting price and the median price per linear metre.
| Manufacturer | Models | From (€/ml + VAT) | Median (€/ml + VAT) | From, incl. VAT (lei) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cimstone | 77 models | from 182,50 €/ml + VAT | median 238,50 €/ml + VAT | ≈ 1.180 lei/lm incl. VAT |
| Belenco | 61 models | from 157,50 €/ml + VAT | median 227,50 €/ml + VAT | ≈ 1.019 lei/lm incl. VAT |
| Technistone | 25 models | from 165 €/ml + VAT | median 240,90 €/ml + VAT | ≈ 1.067 lei/lm incl. VAT |
| Stone Italiana | 35 models | from 161 €/ml + VAT | median 237,25 €/ml + VAT | ≈ 1.041 lei/lm incl. VAT |
| Calisco | 12 models | from 167,90 €/ml + VAT | median 200,45 €/ml + VAT | ≈ 1.086 lei/lm incl. VAT |
Prices are per linear metre and cover the worktop only, without labour: cut-outs, special edges, delivery and installation are calculated in the quote. Lei values include 21% VAT, at €1 = 5,3447 lei, NBR rate of 30.10.2026. The breakdown by range is in the price guide, and the differences between manufacturers on the page about how to choose a quartz brand.
Price by slab thickness
Most quartz kitchen worktops are made from 2 cm slabs, and some models also from 1.5 cm slabs. The table covers the models whose slab thickness is filled in the catalogue.
| Slab thickness | Models | From (€/ml + VAT) | Median (€/ml + VAT) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2 cm slab | 99 models | from 157,50 €/ml + VAT | median 238,50 €/ml + VAT |
| 1.5 cm slab | 19 models | from 167,90 €/ml + VAT | median 208,25 €/ml + VAT |
The visible edge can reach an apparent thickness of 3, 4 or 6 cm by joining a piece of the same material; the price of this option is set in the quote.
What is added to the price per metre
The price per linear metre covers the worktop only. The final quote, made on the sketch of your kitchen, also includes, where applicable:
- the cut-outs for the sink, hob and tap;
- special edges: the edge profile or an apparent thickening;
- the wall cladding between the base and wall units, window sills or the island, calculated separately from the main worktop;
- delivery and installation.
After the furniture is installed, the Prowest team takes measurements on site, then delivers and installs the worktop anywhere in Romania. Calculation examples are in the price guide per linear metre.
Quartz or ceramic: the main differences
| Criterion | Quartz worktop | Sintered ceramic worktop |
|---|---|---|
| Heat | Quartz: tolerates only brief exposure, up to 100–120 °C; hot pans go on a trivet. | Ceramic: contains no resins, so it withstands heat much better. |
| Outdoors and sun (UV) | Quartz: not recommended outdoors, because direct sunlight can discolour the resins. | Ceramic: resists UV rays and can also be used outside. |
| Edges and impact | Quartz: tolerates knocks on the edges better and allows more edge profiles. | Ceramic: edges and corners are more sensitive, and a chip is difficult to repair. |
| Price from | Quartz: from 157,50 €/ml + VAT. | Ceramic: from 206,25 €/ml + VAT. |
All the criteria, including Neolith, Laminam and granite, are in the full comparison of quartz, ceramic, Neolith, Laminam and granite. The ceramic models are in the sintered ceramic kitchen worktops category, and the daily care of quartz is described in the care instructions.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a linear metre of quartz worktop cost?
In this category, prices range from 157,50 €/ml to 360 €/ml, excluding VAT, with a median price of 237,55 €/ml. The differences come from the manufacturer, range, colour and thickness. The breakdown by range and manufacturer is in the price guide.
Can I put hot pans on a quartz worktop?
No. The worktop tolerates only brief exposure to moderate temperatures, up to 100–120 °C. The thermal shock from a hot pot can cause cracks, discolouration or loss of gloss; always use a trivet.
How thick is a quartz kitchen worktop?
Generally 2 cm; some models are also made from 1.5 cm slabs, which usually cost less. The visible edge can reach an apparent thickness of 3, 4 or 6 cm by joining a piece of the same material.
Can the sink be mounted under a quartz worktop?
Yes. The cut-out is profiled and wet-polished, and Prowest fits the sink in the workshop. The sink can also be made from quartz, joined to the worktop as a single monolithic piece.
Can I use a quartz worktop outdoors?
It is not recommended: direct and prolonged sunlight can discolour the resins in the composition. For outdoor use, choose ceramic, Neolith or Laminam.
Quartz or granite?
Composite quartz is a manufactured material made from ground natural quartz bound with resins and pigments, with a non-porous surface; it contains no granite and is not a natural stone. Granite is not part of the Prowest catalogue. The differences by criterion are in the comparison of materials, and the details about the material on the page what composite quartz is.
